Bob Dylan - The Times are a Changing

I must confess that one of the best places to catch a celebrity is on Opening Night of a Broadway play. Last week there were two such openings, Nathan Lane's Butley, which was such a non-event I won't even be posting Mario Cantone's photo at this time. Thursday evening was the opening of a play based on Bob Dylan songs called "The Times are a Changing." I have heard the show isn't so hot, I guess Bob Dylan did too, he didn't even show up to the premiere, but a few fun people did.

Shannon Devine - Mrs America WOW Tommy Tune is going for a new look. Good for him! Celia Weston (Alice TV Series and Law and Order, but really anyone that lives in NYC has been on one of the franchise shows) and Sylvia Miles (A hooker in Midnight Cowboy, Andy Warhol's movie "Heat" , famous for dumping a plate of speghetti on a NY Post critic after he gave her a bad review) Bebe Neuwirth - Chicago, Fosse, Chorus Line and of course Fraizer.Kathleen Turner is nothing if not versatile. From the sensuous killer, Mattie, in Body Heat, to the sultry voice of Jessica Rabbit and, most recently, as Chandler's cross-dressing dad in Friends, Turner has demonstrated extraordinary range. In real life, she also has had to reach deep down — to meet the challenge of rheumatoid arthritis. You can see her cane in her left hand. Recently I was walking around the West Village and walked past Kathleen Turner's house. WOW it was beautiful, I must say it was the nicest front yard in all of New York City that I have ever seen. (I won't be confessing how I found out where she lives; one thing that sets me apart from a crazy stalker fan is I would never take a photo of a celebrity in their neighborhood, with their kids or at an inappropriate time)

You seem like a legitimate photographer, very professional in many ways mr. Hughe. So I would just like to share a few words. I caught your link from Jossip, on that Perez Hilton post.
I take photos as well, just not as many of celebrities, as of real life situations. most of my work goes unheard of, for one reason, bastard editors. They never want to buy my photos for the right price, even though they will be an exclusive. I know so many stories tht would change the way people perceive HollyWood, and the world in general, that will never be exposed, because there appears to be some elaborate conspiracy at hand. Did you notice all of the Publishers belong to one syndicated company? The Sun, The National Enquirier, all of them. Not only that, mostly there all British as well.
I can't say why, but I am the reason it has been so hard to sale off photos lately.
I can't believe how the world has changed...
I say, if I can't make money off of my material, then neither will anyone else. I will expose it for free on the internet.

I love your Broadway opening night photos always. You'll be happy that I saw Bernadette last night - photo forthcoming - and she looks better than ever. I love Celia - I see her all the time so I'm glad you got a picture of her. Kathleen Turner is a lovely lady and I'm so sorry that she has arthritis. She winked at me at the stage door after Virginia Wolfe (one of the best stage performances I've ever seen). She asked me "What are you going to do now? I'm heading to the beach!"

Movie Merlin, I should have said, I have slipped, I would blame it on the alcohol, but I don't drink. You are right, that was a bit stalkerish (I think I was dreaming of getting published) and since we are confessing here, I once went to Robin Williams hotel and waited outside. For a minute there I guess I was better than the girl who called me the moment before I wrote this entry. A "stalker fan" friend who was in a chase car (which is a dealer/fan filled car) after Olivia Newton-John. She wanted information on ONJ's next concert venue for tonight (Red Bank NJ) I asked her what was the purpose of chasing the poor girl's tour bus; she said she had gotten an autograph, but because there were too many fans there she didn't get a picture with.

Anonymous - Sadly I think you have to know the right person at the right time, and more than that you have to have an 8MG camera and a Photo Agency. I have submitted photos to People, Us and a couple other magazines, they seemed interested, but in the end they bought similar photos from someone that works for an agency. As for Perez, I did like his photos at first, I was naive and I thought he took them, then I thought he paid for them, then I thought they gave them to him, now I know that he steals them. I don't like that idea, but if he has to steal them couldn't he resize them so that the photographer could still sell the photo to magazine. Once its available for free, the price of the photo goes down. Thanks for your thought provoking comment. Best of luck HughE

Dear Hughe,

I just discovered your blog and i think it is a fantastic idea, and not too creepy stalkerish.
From now on i will check your site everyday and keep up the good work...

PS.

Just like to get back at your quote on the Jennifer Anston post and the way she was stormed by the paps.

"If the market didn't demand these photos, these types of incidents wouldn't occur. As much as I am disgusted by them, how can you blame them if the public has created the market"

You are so right. I think this whole gossip/celebrityhunting/paps-thing and the public that's craving for these pics, is no better than middle-aged office clerks whacking themselves off on the most disgusting porno pics.

It is some perverted obsession , and i'm guilty too...
