Broadway Barks 8! Comes to Shubert Alley July 8

Friends, animal lovers and award-winning actresses Bernadette Peters and Mary Tyler Moore co-host their annual Shubert Alley fundraiser, Broadway Barks 8!, which boasts dozens of celebrity presenters. Before the celebrity festivities began, Ms Peters made a visit to each of the Pet vendors to say hi and pose for personal photos with them; Meaning she walked out of the stage door with just her security walker and no press. Next to her is the girl that will be starring on Broadway in Annie. Can I just say that I know that Bernadette Peters is a widow of less than a year, and old enough to be my mother, but I have to admire her Rockin Body.Along the way she came across a fan who showed her a tattoo he had made of her signature she signed for him on his shoulder a few years back. She thought it was great, thanked him for being a (crazy) fan and posed for a photo with him. This was the crowd near the silent auction table; the guy in the pink shirt bid $250 for the MTM package which included a signed script of Chuckles the Clown, Mary's favorite MTM episode. I knew I should have raised my bid by at least $110. I checked Ebay and the script alone was worth $75, of course any New Yorker would know you can buy these scripts for $20 on the street especially along Canal St and West Broadway in SoHo.A couple Jersey Boys - Daniel Reichard and Tony winner Christian Hoff. John Lloyd Young was supposed to be there, but it was his birthday July 7 and I guess he was resting/recovering as I heard he called in sick for the Jersey Boys that day. Michael Cervais why isn't he gay? I think Mary and Bernadette were smitten with him too! Sutton Foster and her fiance from Spamalot Christian Borle. Such a cute couple, and he had lots of personaility. MTM and Georgia Engel - A Mary Tyler Moore reunion. Mary gave her a great introduction. Georgia appeared in her MTM character. I have no comment about MTM's face pulled too tightly or her strange appearing arms, as she is an ICON and I once travelled all the way to Minneapolis just to see the spot where she spun around and threw her hat into the air. BTW it's at Seventh Street and Nicollet Avenue and there's a statue there now, meaning I have to go back to see the damn thing and get a photo. Victoria Clarke seen here, not seen but on stage with dogs, Lucie Arnaz, Tarzan, Wicked, Producer casts, Bebe Neuwirth and many more I just can't think of at this late hour. Check out Broadwayworld.com for a review of the event.
