The Tony Awards Dress Rehearsal

Welcome to the 61st Tony Award's Rehearsal Chorus Line Musically Opens the show. The opening number is "One" from A CHORUS LINE and they perform it (pre-recorded) in front of Radio City Music Hall with Marvin Hamlisch on piano. They filmed it Wednesday night about Midnight. They the Chorus appeared on stage and finished out the number. Angela Lansbury opens the show, but wasn't there in sequence, but I put her in sequence.She may have been missing from yesterday's show, but Christine Ebersole did the rehearsalThe Jersey Boys give the rules during the commercial, turn off cell phones, no talking and if you have to go to the bathroom, hold it in!! The they announce the best cotume award. When each award was announced they would say "The winner for this rehearsal performance only is" The winner of the best costume was , well a man , but for fun at the Rehearsals they changed the sexes of the winners, here John Petietr won for costumes at the Rehearsal and here she is going to collect the Tony. Also some of the speeches were hysterical, like when Billy Crudup won for "Utopia" and he /she started to name each of the 46 cast mates and then after about 10 changed her mind.During commericals they would do funny montages, cartoons and TV shows that would reference Broadway and also run old clips of Broadway shows. THIS one got a great reaction. Fantasia - America's Next Diva. No acknolwedgement of the audience whatsoever!but her song was incredibleThe Tony Award Winning Jersey Boys Spring Awakenings: This is a teaser before the commercial break. They perform a medley of songs. Mama Who Bore Me into Bitch of Living into Totally Fucked. It was great and will no doubt get a great response in ticket sales. Phylicia Rashad intorduces Audra McDonald. Now if only she could convince her sister Debbie into having Audra do "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" and not Beyonce. My friends who were waiting outside near the stage door said Phylicia walk out of the Hall backwards so no one would photograph her, she didn't do the same thing on stage.She performed performed "Rauncy"Audra stop the rehearsal with a sound problem and had them start over again. It was great.
